QuickBooks ProAdvisor

QuickBooks offers an online certification program for an accountant to become a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, demonstrating his or her comprehension of Intuit’s popular bookkeeping program. With certification comes a free listing on QuickBooks ProAdvisor directory plus an optional directory listing on the SOS Inventory website when trained to help our customers who need assistance managing their accounts.

Some of our customers are comfortable setting up their SOS Inventory accounts with the help of our user guide and free video demonstrations. Others choose the guided implementation approach. But customers with high volumes of inventory may prefer in-person consultation and setup by a recommended Intuit ProAdvisor (a QuickBooks expert) who has demonstrated proficiency in SOS Inventory software. By working with an individual expertly trained in both software platforms, your business can get off to a smooth start in transitioning from desktop software or other inventory platform without a hitch. Most setup times entail anywhere from a few days to a few weeks’ worth of work, a fraction of the time required to install enterprise inventory software.

What to Expect from a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor

In general, any QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor is trained and tested to know the basics of the QuickBooks Online platform. While many accountants are familiar with Intuit’s platform, they have an elementary  understanding of the software but may not be able to give you the best its features have to offer. An Intuit QuickBooks ProAdvisor passes an exam to receive certification followed by updates to their training as new features become available with the software. Many businesses hire these professionals to perform the initial setup in QuickBooks and provide training to their staff.

QuickBooks offers four different types of certification:

  1. QuickBooks Certification – training includes installation, setups, recording and reporting.
  2. QuickBooks Advanced Certification – these accountants have held basic certification for three years in addition to passing an advanced exam that includes training in more advance QuickBooks features.
  3. QuickBooks Point of Sale Certification – these professionals have experience working with retail-based clients and setting up their accounts in QuickBooks.
  4. QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Certification – these experts have passed both the basic and enterprise exams and offer proficiency in on-site setups for enterprises.

To retain certification, ProAdvisors must retake the test yearly.
